Textival Rug & Textile Workshop LLC, based in Albuquerque New Mexico, offers world-class rug and textile cleaning and restoration services to clients nation-wide. We offer expertise, experience, and meticulous craftsmanship to those who want the finest service and care for their oriental rugs, Navajo and southwestern textiles, decorative area rugs, and ethnographic textiles. Textival’s primary mission is the long-term conservation of handmade textiles--maintaining their artistic, cultural, and investment values—and providing a courteous, professional service to both experienced dealers/collectors and the general public.

Owner Rufus Cohen has over 20 years’ experience in Oriental Rug and textile work, and began Textival in 1997 after moving to New Mexico from California. His father John Cohen is a scholar of Andean textiles who studied with Joseph and Anni Albers, and Rufus grew up in a family of artists, scholars, and anthropologists. Rufus’ wife Suzanne Sbarge currently runs 516 Arts in Albuquerque.
