Welcome to Sunwest Trust, Inc.
We have some new and exciting services to let you know about. We are proud to announce that beginning October 1, 2010, Sunwest Trust will offer ILITs or Irrevocable Life Insurance Trusts. ILITs are a great estate planning tool that is designed to help minimize income and estate taxes. The ILIT is a separate legal entity that holds a life insurance policy outside of the estate and is not subject to the estate taxes of the insured. The purpose is to use the insurance proceeds to pay estate taxes without having to liquidate any assets of the estate.

Also, we have created several new ways for our customers to connect with Sunwest Trust. We have a new blog on our website, which you can access by clicking on Sunwest Trust News on the left hand side of the homepage. The blog is updated regularly with exciting content covering everything from IRAs, Escrow Servicing, Individual 401(k)s and ILITs . We will have examples of how other Self-Directors are using their IRAs, things to avoid when self-directing, general information about new products and services and other stuff thats going on around Sunwest Trust.

Last, we are starting a monthly email newsletter, which will begin in October. The newsletter will be much like an online magazine. The purpose is not to try to sell something, but to provide our clients with content that will help them make the most of their investments. We will offer articles about things like: How to calculate yields on investments, What are the steps to purchasing Real Estate through an IRA and How you can use gold as a hedge against inflation. You dont have to be a current Sunwest Trust account holder to receive the newsletter.
