The Sunset Youth Ministry exists to provide young people opportunities that will help them grow physically, mentally and spiritually. We strive to be a community where relationships can be real, worship can be heartfelt, and lives can be transformed. The Sunset Youth Ministry is designed to encompass all 6th-12th grade students. However, many of our programs are age specific so Junior High and High School students may have separate opportunities to have their unique needs addressed. There are also many instances when Junior High and High School students attend events together in an effort to promote unity in our youth ministry.

We believe that true life is found only in living in constant connection to Jesus. Living in this relationship moves us to Higher Ground. Following Jesus changes the way we live. He changes us. He changes our relationships in the home and in the workplace. He changes everything and leads us to live in the here and now on Higher Ground. Jesus is the only way for a person to live on Higher Ground eternally. This conviction and a desire to encourage others to live this way are at the heart of Higher Ground.

What to expect during worship: As a visitor, you will be welcomed with warmth and friendliness. We believe in love and friendship toward each other regardless of gender, social or ethnic differences. (Mt. 22:36-40) A cappella congregational singing is a part of every worship service. Members of the congregation blend their voices together in psalms, hymns and spiritual songs. The purpose is to praise God, to teach and to admonish one another. (Eph. 5:19, Col. 3:16) During worship services, public prayers are led by men. Prayer is a vital source of strength in a christian's life. We pray to the Lord in private and in the worship assembly. (1 Tim. 2:8-13) It was a practice of the early church to eat the Lord's supper as a memorial to Christ's death on the cross. On the first day of each week, we partake of the un-leavened bread and the fruit of the vine as an act of communion with Christ. (Mt. 26:26-29) We believe the Bible to be an inspired, authoritative book. As a result, Bible teaching is a part of every worship service and Bible class. (2 Tim. 3:16-17)
