Twenty (20) years ago, Ousama M. Rasheed, Esq. began his legal career an Assistant District Attorney in Bernalillo County, prosecuting both misdemeanor and felony cases. As an Assistant District Attorney, he handled up to 100 DWI cases per week.
Sixteen (16) years ago, Ousama M. Rasheed, Esq. began his private law practice with the goal of providing zealous and aggressive representation in the areas of criminal defense, civil litigation, and personal injury cases. Mr. Rasheed has coordinated, moderated, and presented at the last ten (10) annual Continuing Legal Education seminars on DWI sponsored by the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers Association (“NMCDLA”). In addition, Mr. Rasheed presents at other Continuing Legal Education seminars for the New Mexico legal community, including multiple training sessions for the Public Defender’s office and at the 2005 new Magistrate Judge training sponsored by the New Mexico Judicial Education Center. Mr. Rasheed also testifies annually before the New Mexico Legislature on behalf of NMCDLA on proposed laws relating to Criminal, DWI, and Driver License revocation issues and is regularly consulted by various members of the legislature regarding proposed legislation.
