St. Johns United Methodist Church is dedicated to helping you take the next step in growing your relationship with God. Living life as a Christian is an ongoing journey, not a destination.
If you are exploring a relationship with God for the first time, or have already made the commitment, St. Johns invites you to be part of this journey with us. We offer a variety of opportunities for you to connect with God, self and others.
Wherever you are in life, you are welcome at any of our four weekend experiences. Saturday at 5pm and Sunday at 9:30 a.m. for our Contemporary services in the Family Life Center, and Sunday 8:15 and 11 a.m. in the Sanctuary for our organ and choir traditional services.
St. John's also offers an e-mail Bible study. Visit the archive of study tips at Daily Bible Study Tips,
Enough: Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity Sermon Series
Beginning Sunday, September 26th, everyone is invited to join the members of St. John's in worhsip for a special sermon series, that will last until November 21st, entitled Enought: Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity. Our nations is experienceing what many have described as the "American Nightmare." Increasing consumer debt, bankruptcies, home foreclosures, lower income growth, and a volatile stock market are all a part of our economic insecurity. We have lived in a society that tells us "you deserve it now," whether or not we can afford it or really even need it.
All of us have struggled with these issures at one time or another. They are important issues that we cannot ignore. This is why, over the next weeks, we will be having a church-wide study and worship emphasis designed to help us cope in today's world. During this time, we will be distributing copies of the book Enough: Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity, by Rev. Adam Hamilton, to each home in the congregation. Book distribution will continue in the Welcome Center. Stop by to pick up your copy if you haven't done so yet. Together, we will explore what the Bible teaches us about financial management through corporate worship and small group study (details about small-group study opportunities are below). We'll hear expert advice and stories about what others have learned by working through financial challenges. Each week, we will provide you with some practical tools you can use to assess your financial situation and develop a financial plan with a biblical foundation.
Below is a schedule of Sunday events/sermon topics for the Enough series:
