Redeemer is an independent, reformed church in Albuquerque, NM. It began worship services in September 2007, incorporated as a New Mexico non-profit corporation in October 2007, and was recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) corporation in November 2007.
The motivation for its formation was the need for a church, independent of denominational ties, whose theological basis was historically reformed and who held a true scriptural view of the centrality of the worship of God in the entire life of the Christian.
The vision for the church is to preach, teach, and practice worshiping God in spirit and in truth. To worship in truth means that the essence of true worship is an inner act of the heart treasuring God as infinitely valuable. Such worship in every phase of life leads to loving God and enjoying Him. It also leads to delight in being obedient to Him especially as summarized by Paul in Philippians 2:12-13: "Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure."
