Welcome to Gallery Indian Crafts! We are an established business in Roswell, New Mexico and have been dealing in Native American jewelry since 1970. All of our products are handmade by American Indian artisans representing Tribes from Northern Arizona and New Mexico. Our pottery comes from the Pueblos of Santa Clara, Acoma, Navajo and other tribal nations while our artifacts come from the Sioux and other plains Indians. The Navajo, Zuni, Hopi, and Santo Domingo Indians have been using silver for nearly 100 years and have traded turquoise to adorn their work in addition to other gemstones such as shell, jet, and coral. All stones sold by Gallery Indian Crafts are genuine.
Turquoise is a semi-precious mineral composition of copper and phosphates formed in arid mountainous regions such as the American Southwest from mines in Colorado, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. The popular birthstone of December and symbol of success is an opaque mineral with its color hues ranging from deep blue to light green. The density, color, matrix and rarity of the stones all affect their relative value. Proprietor Darel Devenport of Gallery Indian Crafts states, " I try to pick out the best jewelry from the best artists." We invite you to take a look at our Gallery of Indian Crafts!
