Grant County Recycles Day

Help celebrate Grant County Recycles Day by recycling on Saturday, November 13, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. All Grant County residents are invited to bring all their recyclable items to the Grant County Business and Conference Center parking lot next to Ace Hardware on Highway 180. Members of the Silver City Recycling Advisory Committee and Southwest Solid Waste Authority will be on hand with a truck to collect your recyclables and answer questions about the new single stream recycling program. Items collected will include: #1 and #2 plastic bottles, tin and aluminum cans, newspaper, magazines, white office paper, chipboard, corrugated cardboard, rechargeable batteries, cell phones, and glass containers. Ft. Bayard LandmarkWalking Tour

Walking tours begin at 9:30am every Saturday in July, August and September. Check the website for dates in other months. The tour begins at the Ft. Bayard Theater. Spiral garden creates a very elegant and ornate spiral rope of beads. This class is really two techniques for the price of one. First students will make a short length of spiral stitch with seed beads.
