Micander Construction designs and builds houses using the most basic building material known to man - Earth. Our earthen houses are energy efficient, strong and long lasting. Micander homes are energy efficient, averaging 50% less on utilities than other homes.

The details built into every Micander home make them superior to conventional buildings. The homes use windows oriented toward the south to draw in winter sun. Heat from the sun is stored during the day in the thick earthen walls and tile floors and released at night to warm the house. Summer sun is kept out by vegetation and overhangs. North-side porches and vents draw in cool night air in the summer. South windows open and draw cool air through the house from the north side.
