ITS LOOKING A LOT LIKE CHRISTMAS IN OUR WINDOWS
To help you get into the spirit of Christmas, we have a bunch of projects that should go together quite quickly. In addition, all of our Christmas (as well as Halloween) fabrics will be on sale at 25% off during Demo Days, this Friday and Saturday (12 & 13 November). The quilt in the upper corner of our right-hand window, at the left here, is called Another Brick in the Wall. This pattern from Carolina Patchworks starts with one Jelly Roll (40 2-1/2" x wof strips) of Christmas fabrics; some of the strips are cut lengthwise to make narrow "bricks," while a few are sewn together lengthwise to make wide "bricks." We have kits for the other large quilt featured in this window: Paper Doll Christmas, made with fabrics from the Windham Fabrics collection of the same name, and featuring classic paper doll motifs. We have panels for the two Advent Calendars in this window; each has 25 pockets in which you can put small items (one of ours has a candy cane) for each day of Advent. And on the floor of this window, you will see Bless Ewe, a small Holly Stake Banner from the book entitled Tidings - Art to Heart by Nancy Halvorsen. Our left-hand window (in the snapshot at the right) has two circular Christmas Table Toppers; in each case, you sew two panels together to complete the circle. Very cute teddy bears, nut crackers, and snowmen are found among the presents in the farther table topper, while angels grace the skies above the winter scene in Angels on High, the blue quilt nearer to you. Two of Linda Sue's Fiber Art Table Runners are displayed on the far wall as you enter the store; Contemporary Table Runner is shown behind the poinsettias, while Easy Three Stars Table Runner (you can just see the edge) is above. Winter Whimsy Table Runner, between the two round table toppers, also has a very contemporary look; the pattern is in the book 'Tis The Season, Quilts and Other Comforts, by Jeanne Large and Shelly Wicks. And finally, we have some O Kitten Tree jigsaw puzzles on the floor of our windows; these are really important to quilters because they keep the husbands and children busy (don't they?).
