Electrolysis by Zenise will be closing at the end of September, 2010.
There are two types of electrolysis currents. I use both currents which is called the blend.
There are two types of electrolysis currents: galvanic and thermolysis. Galvanic is direct current which kills the hair follicle by chemical action. Thermolysis is high frequency current which kills the hair follicle by heat. I use the blend method which is both currents together for best results.
I insert a tiny needle into the hair follicle and use the currents to destroy the follicle. The needle going into the skin isn't felt but the currents cause a stinging sensation. Each hair must be individually treated and removed as I work. The hair slips easily from the follicle and shouldn't be pulled. If the patron feels the hair pulling out, the treatment isn't successful and that hair will grow back. When electrolysis is done correctly, it is permanent and the skin is never damaged.
After an electrology treatment the skin might be pink or red for up to one hour depending upon the length of treatment and sensitivity of the skin.
Electrolysis requires a series of appointments because no one has one hundred percent of their hair at on time All hair follicles go through growing, shedding, and dormant cycles. So, electrolysis cannot take care of the problem in one or two appointments. If the patron has tweezed, waxed, or sugared the hair, it will take about 8 weeks to see any reduction of hair after electrolysis is begun. Treating an area which has not had previous temporary hair removal, the results will be seen much sooner.
