Im looking forward to seeing everyone on August 13th for our Third Annual Pet Shabbat. Were going to have some wonderful furkids there, and theyre all looking for a new forever home. You never know who youll findthe Rabbi knows!
On a more serious note, if youve never had to choose between feeding your children, yourselves, or your petsbe very grateful. There are seniors in our community who do have to make this choice every day, and to that end the Jewish Family Services of New Mexico is collecting donations of dry/canned dog and cat food. Please, while youre buying your own pets food, wont you pick up an extra sack, or a few extra cans so that our seniors dont have to give up their companion animals?
51. Not to refrain from maintaining a poor man and giving him what he needs (Deut. 15:7)
52. To give charity according to one’s means (Deut. 15:11)
If its within your means, and youre grateful for not having to make this choice, please bring your donations of dog and cat food to the synagogue on August 13th. Ill be responsible for delivering them to Jewish Family Services of New Mexico. Thank you!
Scruffies and Shalom,

If you love Israel, you won’t want to miss this talk!

Immediately after the dinner, at 7 PM, Yishai will be speaking with Ari Abramowitz at the JCC, for a joint Yad B’Yad-ZOA event.
