Henry E. de la Garza:
Graduated from the University of Wyoming College of Law in 1991 with a Juris Doctorate (law degree). Previously in 1987 Mr. de la Garza graduated from the University of New Mexico with a double major Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Spanish. Mr. de la Garza is fluent in the Spanish language and is able to represent non-English speaking clients without communication impediment. Mr. de la Garza began his career concentrating in the area of personal injury until approximately 1994 when a strong interest in criminal law attracted Mr. de la Garza to become an Assistant District Attorney, in Bernalillo County. Mr. de la Garza prosecuted numerous misdemeanor cases including a large volume of jury trial cases until he decided to leave the District Attorneys Office to enter private practice with a private firm which handled collection, personal injury and criminal defense matters in 1995. In 1997 Mr. de la Garza opened his own office to concentrate his practice in criminal defense and personal injury law. Mr. de la Garza also handles a select assortment of non-personal injury civil litigation matters.
Mr. de la Garza has handled a variety of criminal defense matters in his career including a strong focus on the defense of DWI/DUI cases. Mr. de la Garza has represented clientele in both misdemeanor and felony matters involving DWI/DUI cases and other assorted criminal charges. Felony matters include but are not limited to narcotics cases, rape cases, white collar and violent crimes. Mr. de la Garza has represented hundreds of clients and brings aggressive and effective representation to the court on behalf of his client. Mr. de la Garza is a member of the New Mexico Criminal Defense Lawyers Association.
